How StepSure works

A straightforward process designed to give remote families peace of mind — and documented results the same day.

1

Book a visit

Choose a date that works for the household. You can book on behalf of a parent from anywhere — we confirm directly with the resident.

2

We assess and fix

A trained technician works through every room using a structured checklist. Loose rugs, missing grab bars, poor lighting — hazards are documented and corrected on the spot where possible.

3

You get proof

Same-day photos, measurements, completed actions, and a prioritised list of anything that needs a follow-up. Shared with you and the resident that afternoon.

Why families choose StepSure

Not an inspection. Not a handyman. A structured visit that combines assessment, corrections, and proof.

Assessment to action — not just a report

Our technicians don't just identify problems and leave you with a list. They fix what they can during the visit — securing rugs, adding night lights, installing grab bars — so hazards are reduced before they walk out the door.

Same-day documentation for remote families

Every finding is photographed. You receive timestamped before-and-after photos, measurements, and a summary of completed actions the same afternoon — whether you're across town or across the country.

Trained technicians, not random handymen

StepSure technicians follow a standardised checklist developed for aging-in-place homes. You know exactly what will be evaluated, what was done, and what falls outside the visit scope.

Transparent pricing

No hidden fees. Choose the level of service that fits your situation — from a single assessment to ongoing partner coverage.

Common questions

Everything you need to know before booking a visit.

Can I book a visit for someone else?

Yes. Most of our bookings come from adult children or care managers arranging a visit for an older family member. We confirm directly with the resident before the visit and share the report with authorised family members the same day.

What happens during the visit?

A trained technician works through each room using a structured checklist — bathrooms, stairs, lighting, rugs, walkways, and entrances. They document hazards, complete minor corrections on the spot (securing rugs, adding night lights, installing grab bars), and note anything that needs a separate follow-up.

What if something is outside the visit scope?

We clearly separate completed work from recommendations. If a need requires different materials, specialised expertise, or a longer job, we document it with photos and measurements and include it in your report as an out-of-scope recommendation — never as something we pretend to have finished.

How quickly do I receive the report?

The same day. Your report includes timestamped photos, measurements, a list of completed actions, and prioritised recommendations. It's shared with you and the resident that afternoon.

Are the technicians vetted?

Yes. StepSure technicians are trained on our standardised assessment protocol and carry identification. We provide arrival details and technician information before every visit, so the household knows exactly who to expect.

What supplies are included?

The Essential plan covers the assessment and minor corrections; supplies like grab bars, non-slip mats, and rug tape are billed at cost plus a 25% handling fee. The Complete plan includes up to $100 in approved supplies — covering the most common fixes.
